STONEWALL Equestrian Centre was the venue for Equestrian NSW’s 2025 Show Horse Championships and competitors could not have asked for a more magnificent setting.
Located at Mangrove Mountain on the NSW Central Coast, Stonewall is a multi-disciplinary site with performance areas set amidst waterways, natural bushland and – as its name suggests – hand-built stone walls.
Competitors like Mark Kiddle and his partner, Malcolm Macrae, were two of many full of praise for the surroundings and work area.
“We don’t often get an arena like this to show on,” Mark said.
“The surfaces are wonderful and the stables and surroundings are magnificent.”
Mark showed two winners at the April 5-6 event, the hack Veyron and show hunter, Karismah Leroy Brown. Both are warmbloods.
“I agree there’s nothing better than a lovely Thoroughbred horse, but today’s Thoroughbred are mostly sprint types,” he said.
“So a fine, elegant mare like Veyron or a show hunter hack like Karisma Leroy Brown can show really well and do dressage – they are dual purpose.”

Young Victorian rider Annabelle Richardson was one of the busiest and most successful competitors at the show, picking up no less than seven first place finishes.
Among her list of championship wins were in the child’s small show hack class with Royalwood West End, child’s small show galloway with KP Dance On Air, the open small show hack with Royalwood West End and the child’s small show hunter hack with Merricks Fiore.
Annabelle capped of her show winning the $3000 grand champion owner-rider open award with Nottingham Royal Highness.

In the show hunter section, the Welsh breed was well represented, with winners including the medium show hunter pony Sienna Mallen’s Weston Park Verdasco and the small show hunter pony Maia Warren’s Pantyffynon Neighohmei.
Sandy Beattie's Bamborough Catapulte with Elizabeth Alexander aboard was the champion leading rein show hunter pony, striking a blow for the Australian ponies, and Ellie Roots on Vienna Smith's Oak Park Winter Garden won the ridden Shetland.
Other show hunter winners included Indy Gardiner’s Fontain Park Sir Harvey, Megan Riley’s Allambie Park Euphoria, Daizi Plumb’s DP Royal Ascot, Malcom Macrae’s Karizmah Leroy Brown, Georgie Batten’s Entally My Signature Move, Addisyn Ream’s Cheraton Winterfell, Luke Docker’s Ke-Anbree Austentacious and Hallie Cowdroy’s Yarra Heights Playmate.
The grand champion owner-rider hunter, also with $3000 prizemoney, was Fontain Park Sir Harvey shown by Indy Gardiner.

The winners circle in the strong show pony section was as usual the domain of the Riding Pony breed – Briony Randle’s Swanreach Flirtatious took out the show pony leading rein class, the winning child’s large show pony was Morgan Lane’s Yarralea Minks Agent, the child’s small show pony was Georgia Dalley’s Bordershow The Last Dance.
The first ridden show pony ne 12.2h champion was Harper Harding’s Bellgarra Tinkerbell.
Georgia Dalley’s Bordershow The Last Dance also won the open small pony class and in the open large pony class, Morgan Lane’s own Yarralea Minks Agent stood at the top of the line.
In the hack ring, Mark Kiddle’s Veyron was the champion large hack, with two more warmbloods completing the top three. (Tahlia Wells’ Rosevale More Romance placed second and Sally Rizzuto’s Sir Donnertanz third.)
The open large galloway winner was Jess Campbell with Bayview Gold Class and the open small galloway went to Poppi Plumb’s Cedar Leigh Winter Romance.
Rounding out the winners in a large child’s ridden section were the child’s large show hack Corley Luff’s Beltana Power N Time and the child’s large galloway Madeleine Cooke’s Tikallara Illusion.
The champion riders for the show were Hallie Cowdroy (five and under nine), Matilda Kape (nine and under 12 years), Madeleine Gaden (12 to 14 years), Anastasia Blanch (15 to 17 years), Georgie Batten (18-25 years) and Courtney May Cremasco (over 25).
Judges for the show were Raymond Butler, Lisa Cleary, Alison Davidson, Michael Myers, Angela Patterson, Robert Ralston and Angela Skyring.
